In October 2019, three ITT staff members along with some of our Cardno colleagues climbed the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, raising money for Tommy’s.
The team started the trek on the 1st October via the Machame Route and spent a total of 6 days on the mountain, making it to the end on the 6th October. Four of the team members successfully reached the summit of the mountain at 5895m altitude on the 5th October, after a gruelling 8 hour hike in -15 oC temperatures and high winds. The guides informed us that the weather/conditions for the summit push were a 7/10, with 10 being the worst they could be, making reaching the summit even more of an achievement!
The team thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and most importantly raised over £2,500 for Tommy’s.
