Ivy Gichuki is a Consultant and GIS Analyst at I.T. Transport Ltd. She holds a BA in Urban and Regional Planning and is currently pursuing an MSc in Geospatial Information Systems and Remote Sensing. Ivy has extensive experience in mapping and analyzing spatial data using advanced GIS and Remote Sensing tools and remote sensing software. With a background in local, county, regional, and national physical planning and GIS analysis, Ivy has worked on a wide range of projects. Her expertise includes project management, data collection, urban and regional planning, community development, research, sectoral surveys, conducting public participation workshops, and comprehensive GIS and Remote Sensing work.

She has worked as a Physical Planner and GIS Analyst and led the Kwa Mang’eli Informal Settlement Plan Proposal in Athi River and contributed to the preparation of the Lamu and Makueni County Spatial Plans in Kenya. Ivy also participated in sectoral surveys in assisting in the development of the Limuru Sub County Integrated Strategic Urban Development Plan in 2018. She was part of the team preparing Local Physical Development Plans for Cluster II towns in Kilifi County and updating Nakuru Sub County Local Physical and Land Use Development Plans in Kenya.

At I.T. Transport Ltd., Ivy is a Project Manager and supports business development through the preparation of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and Proposals. She also provides GIS and mapping support for ongoing projects, utilizing her proficiency in GIS and Remote Sensing softwares such as ArcGIS, ERDAS, ENVI, PostgreSQL, QGIS, IDRISI, and R-Studio to enhance spatial analysis and data interpretation across various initiatives.
